The WVU Foundation Distinguished Doctoral Scholarship provides a $5,000 award to doctoral students at West Virginia University. This scholarship is aimed at students who have already been admitted to doctoral candidacy and are actively working toward completing their dissertations in the Spring 2025 term. It offers support to students who have made significant progress in their Ph.D. journey, specifically those who are ready to begin or continue their dissertation work.

This scholarship offers financial assistance to help ease the challenges faced by doctoral candidates. Eligibility:

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Must be enrolled in an on-campus Ph.D. program at West Virginia University.

• Must have achieved full admission to candidacy in their doctoral program.

• Must have completed and had their dissertation prospectus/proposal approved by no later than October 11, 2024.

• Must be enrolled in at least one credit hour during both the fall and spring terms of the academic year.

• Must be in good academic standing, maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.7.
