Description:
The Southeast Asia High Achievers Scholarship is an initiative by the University of Canterbury to support academically talented international students from Southeast Asia. This scholarship aims to assist students who are beginning their academic journey in New Zealand. It is available to students starting their undergraduate or postgraduate studies at the University of Canterbury, offering financial support to help cover tuition fees.

The scholarship is designed for students from countries in Southeast Asia who demonstrate excellent academic potential. By offering this support, the University of Canterbury seeks to encourage students to pursue higher education in New Zealand and contribute to the university's diverse international community.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  1. Applicants must be new, full-fee paying international students planning to enrol in either an undergraduate or postgraduate programme at the University of Canterbury.
  2. Applicants must be citizens of one of the following Southeast Asian countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam.
  3. Applicants must have a current and valid conditional or unconditional offer to study an eligible programme at the University of Canterbury.
  4. Applicants cannot be previous students of the University of Canterbury. This includes students who are applying for a higher-level programme (for example, a graduate applying for a master’s programme).
