Description: The Ah Nua Scholarship provides financial support to undergraduate students from Asian and Pacific/Pasifika backgrounds who are studying at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. The primary goal of this scholarship is to assist students who are facing financial difficulties or personal hardships. This scholarship aims to help make higher education more accessible to deserving students, ensuring they have the resources to succeed in their academic journey.

The scholarship is open to students from a wide range of countries, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Kiribati, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Pakistan, China, the Philippines, South Korea, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Vietnam. Additionally, residents of Rapa Nui are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the Ah Nua Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • They must be citizens of one of the eligible countries listed above or residents of Rapa Nui.
  • They must not be citizens of New Zealand or Australia, nor hold a residence class visa for either country.
  • Only full-fee-paying international students are eligible to receive this scholarship.
