Description: The University of Canterbury Alumni South Island Chapter established the scholarship in 2014. It
replaces the University of Canterbury Alumni Association Scholarships, which had been first awarded in 1996, and which were then reviewed and relaunched in 2008.The scholarship supports postgraduate and first-year undergraduate students at the University of Canterbury.

Eligibility:

Scholarships must:

• have completed or be completing a university entrance qualification;
• have been studying at secondary level in the year of application (or, in the case of a gap year, in the year immediately prior).
• Excellent academic achievements;
• involvement in sporting, cultural and/or community activities; and affinity with the objectives of the University of Canterbury Alumni South Island Chapter, as demonstrated in a brief statement required as part of the application.
